Police charge 16-year-old boy with murder after man, 20, was stabbed to death during knife fight that left two others injured

Detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy with the murder of a 20-year-old, who was stabbed to death during a fight. 

A 16-year-old, from Dewsbury, has been charged with the murder of Bradley Stewart Gledhill, who was stabbed to death in Batley, West Yorkshire.

Twenty-year-old Bradley, from Heckmondwike, died from his injuries after he was attacked in Park Croft on June 21.

Two other males also suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. 

The teenager appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on July 18 on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and joint enterprise.

The 16-year-old was charged after West Yorkshire Police made two arrests on July 17. 

An 18-year-old man, from Stancliffe, has been released on police bail since yesterday’s arrests.

This comes after three men and a teenager have already been charged with the murder of Bradley, as well as the attempted murder of two other men.

The men, who are due to stand trial on December 7, are 18-year-old Raja Nawaz, from Heckmondwike, Usman Karolia, 19 and 23-year-old Ahmed Karolia, both from Batley.

The teenager charged with the murder is a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
