Police launch desperate search for schoolgirl, 16, who vanished a week ago while doing her daily exercise

Fears are growing for a missing 16-year-old girl last seen six days ago during her daily exercise.  

Sophie Walton, from Pilsley, Derbyshire has been missing since Wednesday, April 8, with people reporting to have seen someone matching her description in nearby Chesterfield and New Whittington.

Officers from Derbyshire police have now released a description and photo of her in a bid to try and find the 16-year-old.

A police spokesman said: ‘She is white, slim, 5ft 6ins tall and has long black hair. She was last seen wearing a white coat, black trousers and white trainers.

‘If you know where Sophie is, or you have seen her during your daily exercise outside, please contact us.’

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting reference 1032 of April 8.
