Prince fans flock to Paisley Park on the fifth anniversary of his death… as his many muses share tributes

On the fifth anniversary of the late great Prince’s death – age 57 – from an accidental fentanyl overdose, around 1,400 fans paid their respects at Paisley Park in Chanhassen, MN.

Inside, the seven-time Grammy winner’s estate displayed his Paisley Park-shaped urn, and outside, fans hung mementos on the cyclone fence – according to Star Tribune.

Fans respectfully wandered around Prince’s beloved 65K-square-foot complex sitting on roughly nine acres of land at 7801 Audubon Road.

In the parking lot, followers of the Purple One could inscribe messages on white table coverings using purple Sharpies.

Tributes poured in from Prince’s many muses and notable admirers on social media, with his percussionist Sheila E. sharing five Instagram posts filled with memories.

‘5 yrs ago today u ascended to heaven. Even though you left us your legacy, ur music, it is still hard to believe u are not here,’ wrote the 63-year-old Grammy nominee, who met in him in 1978.

‘I want to call or text u but I know u won’t answer. There has never been and will never be another one like Prince. We miss u and remember u always, your legacy continues even now.’

Eight-time Grammy winner Beck – whose 1999 album Midnite Vultures was inspired by Prince – share a pic of the pair embracing onstage the 2015 Grammy Awards captioned: ‘Five years gone.’
