Rachel Bilson says there wasn’t any drama behind the scenes of The O.C. in the ‘early days’ of the teen soap
The O.C. was arguably the hottest teen drama of the early 2000s.
But despite rumours of strife and infighting between the cast, star Rachel Bilson insists that wasn’t the case.
Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Wednesday, the 39-year-old said that there weren’t any major problems behind the scenes of the show.

‘We all had a really good time together,’ she said.
‘I think we all experienced the same thing at the same time with the show being such a success, and we didn’t know it would be that way,’ she continued.
‘We kind of all rode the wave together and stuck together, at least in the beginning, for sure,’ she added. ‘It was a good support system.’

Rachel and Melinda Clarke, who played the glamorous Julie Cooper on the series, are currently co-hosting an O.C. recap podcast together.
Despite Rachel’s happy memories, some other supporting cast members from the soap haven’t been too kind when asked about their former co-stars.
According to Cam Gigandet- who played surfer Kevin Volchok – he was hardly welcomed to the program in 2006, especially by Mischa Barton and Ben McKenzie.

The Twilight star said Ben – who played Ryan, a reformed bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks – went out of his way to be unwelcoming.
Cam told Elle magazine in 2014 that there was a reason he doesn’t talk to any of his former co-stars anymore.
The actor said: ‘Actually, Ben McKenzie was kind of mean to me. I hadn’t done anything at that point and he was a little bit of an ass.
‘But I love him. I think he’s a great actor and I love Southland.’
When asked about Mischa, Cam replied: ‘Mischa? I didn’t really… was she there? I don’t even have memories of her.’

The comment has extra sting considering that, at the time, the troubled actress played Cam’s on-screen love interest and he ultimately brought about her early death and exit from the show.
He also said that certain cast members would cause trouble on set by forgetting their lines.
‘It was only the third or fourth season. Those kids were f**king miserable. They were just – they would not remember their lines on purpose. They were young,’ he said.
