Radio host reveals how his interview with a ‘frosty’ Amy Shark ended in disaster over a VERY rookie mistake

Radio host and podcaster Jack Post has revealed details from his disastrous interview with singer Amy Shark.

While Jack thought his chat with the I Said Hi hitmaker was running smoothly, things quickly turned sour at the 45-minute mark.

Reflecting on his trainwreck exchange with the ARIA Award-winner, Jack told Gold 104.3 on Friday: ‘She was frosty… She had no humour in her voice at all.’

Jack was interviewing Amy for his new podcast series, Jacky Road Studios, but he made a fatal error of forgetting to press record.

On Tuesday, he shared the audio clip of his reaction to the rookie mistake, which featured many expletives.

‘Cool, thank you so much for doing that… um, oh f**k! Sh*t! Holy s**t! Oh dude, I f**king didn’t record it! I’m so sorry!’ Jack told a stunned Amy.

While co-hosting The Christian O’Connell Show on Gold 104.3, Jack revealed he would be forever scarred by his failed interview with Amy.

He said: ‘[Sony Music] gave me 45 minutes, which was great. It was a great interview, I was so happy with it. But at the end of the interview when I went to say goodbye, I went to stop the recording… I never pressed record on the whole interview.’

Amy asked Jack if he trying to prank her, and when he told her he wasn’t joking, she became quite annoyed and ‘frosty’ towards him.

However, Jack said he completely understood the singer’s frustrations.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Amy Shark for comment.

Jack’s co-host Christian O’Connell shared a similar story of when he failed to record an interview with comedian Ricky Gervais 10 years ago.

After the radio segment went viral, several other well-known presenters shared their own experiences of recording mishaps with major stars.

Leon Sjogren, the executive producer of Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Byron, said he’d realised 10 minutes into his exclusive interview with Chris Martin from Coldplay that he hadn’t pressed record.

Announcer Byron Cooke added: ‘I know of an audio producer on his first day on the job… his breakfast show interviewed the Rolling Stones in their hotel room. He realised when he gets back to station it hadn’t recorded.’
