Radio host recalls the bizarre moment he delivered his own semen ‘in a party bag’ to a fertility clinic – before being spotted by a fan in the waiting room

He’s a familiar face in Melbourne thanks to his popular KIIS FM breakfast show.

But Jase Hawkins certainly didn’t expect to come face to face with a fan at a fertility clinic as he was awkwardly delivering a ‘party bag’ of his own semen to the doctor.

Speaking on Jase & PJ on Tuesday, the father of two explained that he and his wife, Louise, had booked an appointment to get his sperm count checked, in case they ever wanted more children in the future.

Awkward! On Tuesday, KIIS FM host Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins revealed he came face-to-face with a fan while delivering a ‘party bag’ of his own semen to his doctor

‘I knew I was going to be nervous doing it there, so Lou rang and asked if I could do it at home,’ he said, referring to gathering a sperm sample.

Jase then joked he felt ‘like an ambulance driver’ as he rushed to the clinic to deliver the specimen within a specified time limit.

‘I finally got there, walked in and the waiting room was packed,’ he said. ‘I kept my back to everyone and I’m waiting at the window holding my brown paper bag.’

Putting his head in his hands, Jase continued: ‘The only bag we had in the house was an old party gift bag, so I’m sitting there with a bag of little stars and balloons.’

After discreetly handing the bag to a nurse, Jase was confronted by someone else in the waiting room just as he was about to make his exit.

He said: ‘It was just at that point I turned around, I put my hand on the door to leave and one guy leans on his door and says, “Hey. Big fan, love the show.”‘

Jase then burst into fits of laughter, while his stunned colleagues giggled with him.

This bizarre admission comes after Jase’s co-host, Polly ‘PJ’ Harding, recently quit the show live on air.

She is returning to her native New Zealand after a ‘challenging’ year which saw her ‘priorities change’ after getting engaged. She will be leaving in June.

She explained that being separated from her family and fiancé in New Zealand during the Covid-19 pandemic last year had taken a toll.

Weekend Today host Lauren Phillips is currently the favourite to take over as co-host next month.
