Before and after: Ray Hadley, 66, has revealed to Men’s Health magazine this month he ballooned to 114 kilograms with him believing he ‘probably wouldn’t have made 70’ – before shedding 18 kilograms in six months before his tying-the-knot to his new wife Sophie Baird

‘The way I was going I probably wouldn’t had made 70,’ he added.

Ray’s weight had been escalating for quite some time after rarely doing any exercise and not watching his diet.

The radio king would regularly eat a full English breakfast, nearly an entire loaf of bread; and when eating out would order three courses.

‘Guys my age. From the age of 50 or 60 – I’m 66 now – you just give up a bit, I suppose,’ the popular broadcaster admitted.

However, Ray said it was when he met with his weightloss coach who informed him he could ‘have the body of a 120 year old’, it finally clicked and he got to work.

Changes: The broadcaster initially agreed to start walking to back and forth from his front door to his front gate - with it not taking long before he started walking everywhere

Initially, the broadcaster only agreed to start walking back and forth from his front door to his front gate – but it soon started a relaxing habit.

Ray ended up racking-up between 60 and 90 kilometres per week.

In addition to walking, he also overhauled his diet and committed to drinking two litres of water, daily.

Slim down: He ate a diet of tinned salmon and sourdough, while he cut down on carbs for lunch and dinner. He also ate dinner earlier to extend his overnight fast
