Real Housewives Of New Jersey: Dolores Catania storms away after Joe Gorga calls her ‘broken woman’

Dolores Catania angrily stormed out of a cocktail party after Joe Gorga called her a ‘broken woman’ on Wednesday’s episode of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey.

The 50-year-old reality star was insulted as Joe, 41, singled her out in front of everyone, including her ex-husband Frank Catania, after Dolores claimed she was happy in her relationship with her boyfriend David.

‘I think you’re in denial,’ Joe told her.

‘In denial? You can tell me whatever the f*** you want, but I don’t want somebody getting mad at me for walking ahead of them to get in the car,’ Dolores said.

She was referencing Joe’s recent tantrum after his wife Melissa walked ahead of him after a group dinner.

‘I don’t care how I look because as a man, a real man, you have to express your feelings. And say listen, ”Honey, I want this affection”. That’s a f***ing man. So if David doesn’t give you that affection…,’ Joe said.

Dolores claimed that David gives her affection, but Joe said it was impossible because he works too much.

‘Listen, I love Frank Catania but he was doing his thing,’ Joe said as he brought up her rocky relationship with her ex-husband Frank.

‘Listen, hold on, I love you like a brother, but you ruined her,’ Joe said.

‘I don’t think I’m ruined,’ Dolores said.

‘This is a broken woman,’ Joe said while standing right next to Dolores.

‘If I got cheated on, if Melissa cheated on me, I’d be broken. I’d be like, ”Listen, I don’t need no body. I like my space.” Just like Dolores,’ Joe said.

Joe’s outburst came as the dynamics in his relationship with Melissa have changed as she seeks more independence.

‘Joe may look like he’s talking to Dolores, but I think he’s trying to send a message to Melissa,’ Jackie Goldschneider, 44, noted in a confessional. ‘You might think that you want all this independence, but without a man stabilizing you and calling the shots, you’re going to be broken, too.’

The conversation escalated as Joe asked Dolores if she wanted to be loved and she answered that she felt loved by David.

‘I’m happy where I am right now,’ Dolores said.

‘That’s a scarred heart,’ Joe said.

Margaret Josephs, 54, protested that Joe was being ‘chauvinistic’.

‘What is this like the 50s? Women’s entire existences don’t revolve around men and that is not where they derive all their happiness from. Newsflash,’ Margaret said in a confessional.

Melissa Gorga, 42, then told Dolores that everyone knew that David gifted her with a Porsche and they all felt it was a stalling maneuver.

‘A ring, a Porsche, a f***ing house doesn’t mean s***. David has become a part of my family. We both put a lot into this relationship and it’s growing slower than everybody else expected to. He’s not around, I’m good with that and that should be enough for f***ing everybody,’ Dolores told them.

‘Frank, I want to leave. Everyone is talking behind my back about getting a f***ing Porsche and I want to leave,’ she told her ex.

‘F*** you. F*** you. Learn how not to talk behind my f***ing back. Go f*** your f***ing selves,’ Dolores said as she left the party.

Melissa tried to protest that they weren’t talking behind her back, but Dolores shouted over her.

Margaret sympathized with Dolores and then suggested they resume drinking. 

The episode also showed Joe spilling the beans that his sister Teresa Giudice, 48, was in love with her new boyfriend during lunch with Melissa, Margaret and Joe  Benigno.

Melissa  also was privy to their relationship, but kept mum about it at Teresa’s request.

‘He’s a good guy. You know what I like about him? He wears his heart on his sleeve. Tells you how he feels. He has emotion.  They’re in love with each other,’ Joe said. 

Teresa was outraged at the cocktail party after learning that her brother was talking about her relationship, but she left early the bash early anyway presumably to see her new man.
