Reports the contestants on The Masked Singer are given time to touch up their hair and makeup

Reports that the contestants on The Masked Singer are given time to touch up their hair and makeup before every big reveal… explaining why they always manage to look so flawless

Despite spending hours in a heavy disguise on The Masked Singer, the show’s contestants always manage to look flawless during every big reveal.

But it’s more than just luck and good genes which leaves the show’s stars looking like they just emerged from the salon.

According to a recently unearthed report by Entertainment Weekly in January last year, the contestants on the US version of the show are given time to get their hair and makeup styled before removing their masks in front of the judges.

‘The unmasking doesn’t actually occur right after the announcement,’ read the report.

After the announcement, the contestants are taken backstage, where they spend 20 minutes having their hair styled and makeup applied.

They then return to stage with their mask intact for the big reveal, looking presentable for the TV cameras.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Network 10 to determine if the same protocol takes place on the Australian version of the show.

It would certainly explain how the unmasked contestants have all managed to look flawless, despite the show’s inhibiting costumes.

After being revealed as Dragonfly, Sophie Monk removed her mask and showed off her artfully tousled hair, which had been styled in waves and worn swept to one side.

The 40-year-old’s makeup was also miraculously fresh-looking, with not a smudge of mascara out of place.
