Return to Summer Bay? Kate Ritchie says she wants to return to acting and misses Home and Away

Could Kate Ritchie be heading back to Summer Bay? 

The former Home and Away star stunned fans this week when she revealed that she would love to return to acting and still misses the TV drama which launched her career.  

Speaking to TV Week, the 41-year-old mother-of-one opened up about her desire to get back on set.

‘The day I walk back onto a film set will be a very happy one,’ she shared. 

‘I look forward to being part of an ensemble again one day. It’s all about finding the right role. Don’t worry – I’m still searching.’   

Kate said she misses Home and Away, hinting she could possibly reprise her role as Sally Fletcher on the long-running Channel Seven soap.

‘I will always feel attached to Home and Away,’ she gushed.  

‘Even now, with some distance from those days and having had the chance to develop into my own person without the security blanket of Sally, I still miss it desperately.

The radio presenter began her acting career as a child, scoring the role of Sally at the age of eight.

The brunette beauty currently hosts her Nova radio show, Kate, Tim & Marty and has written two children’s books.

She also shares a five-year-old daughter, Mae, with her estranged husband Stuart Webb, 39. 

In April, New Idea Magazine reported that the couple had been attending ‘counselling’ for their issues.

 ‘Stuart has been trying to show Kate that he’s a changed man and is serious about getting his life in order,’ a ‘friend’ allegedly told the publication.

The source claims that the pair have been meeting up to ‘work through’ things  and have made ‘great progress so far.’ 

Kate and Stuart were last spotted together in February for their daughter Mae’s first day of school. 

Just three months earlier the actress reportedly moved out of the family home after police took out an interim AVO on her behalf against the NRL star, following an incident at her house in Randwick.

In November, Stuart agreed to a year-long apprehended violence order taken (AVO) taken against him by NSW Police. 

 The AVO banned him being in Kate’s company within 12 hours of drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs.  

Daily Mail Australia confirmed Kate had moved out of the couple’s marital home in Sydney’s Randwick, in October.
