RHONY’s Sonja Morgan says Bethenny Frankel would be ‘happy’ for her success

EXCLUSIVE: RHONY’s Sonja Morgan says she’s proving her naysayers wrong with successful fashion brand and that former castmate Bethenny Frankel would be ‘happy’ for her

Sonja Morgan has opened up about the success of her fashion and lifestyle brand ahead of the season 12 premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the entrepreneur says she feels ‘vindicated’ by her success after being ridiculed for her failed business ventures over the years. 

The 56-year-old also said that former castmate Bethenny Frankel would be happy for her success, despite some of their fiery on-screen clashes in the past.

‘It does feel [good],’ she said. ‘Because I remember people saying “you’re delusional, you’re bananas, you’re crazy!”

‘My fashion [line] has been here since 2014 and I remember when I first did my fashions they said “it’s not real”. Well what’s running down the runway?’

She added: ‘I feel good about it, but mostly for myself and my daughter is very proud of me.’

While Sonja was memorably accused of trying to copy Bethenny’s Skinnygirl cocktail empire with her own brand, Tipsy Girl prosecco, in season eight of RHONY, Sonja says that Bethenny is now supportive of her business ventures.

‘I think she’d be very happy to see that I’ve done well,’ she revealed.

‘I remember when Bethenny took me to see her [Skinnygirl] jeans operation, she saw another side to me. She saw that I had knowledge of fashion and she was impressed.

‘And I remember when there were all these digs coming from Dorinda [Medley] about my shoes with the crest, Bethenny liked my shoes and thought they were going to be a great success.’

She continued: ‘Now my collection is going into Century 21, they have fifteen stores and we’re in two stores already, so I think Bethenny will be happy for me.’

Sonja’s lifestyle brand currently consists of shoes, clothing, a perfume, and skincare. 

Her fashion line was featured at New York Fashion Week last year, which viewers will see on the next season of RHONY.
