Speaking to The Daily Telegraph about his sobriety last month, Ronnie said of how he feels: ‘I got clean! My life’s better now.’

When asked if was ready to get clean, he happily admitted: ‘Yes I was. I don’t have any bitterness or anger. I’m wiser now; I had a great time and I still do, but in a different way.’

He went on to praise his bandmates, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts for being supportive towards his sobriety.

‘Mick asked me if I wanted to help myself, and was there anything he could do to help. I appreciated that, they’ve been very caring around me,’ Ronnie explained.

Ronnie went on to claim he finds it easier to stay sober because he isn’t surrounded by people drinking and taking drugs and can now be ‘around for [his] family.’

The veteran musician admitted he had a lot of ‘close calls’ with his drink and drug abuse and thinks they could all have been avoided had he been ‘more careful.’

Ronnie, who has six children from three marriages, claimed he would party ‘all night’ with his pals and then return home to be ‘Dad at breakfast’.

Ronnie married actress and producer Sally in 2012. The couple welcomed their twins in 2016.
