She’s one of SAS Australia’s top recruits, but Sabrina Frederick was pulled into an interrogation on Tuesday after disappointing the show’s DS (directing staff) with her performance in an escape room.
After freeing herself, the 23-year-old AFLW player chose to leave behind her teammates, Merrick Watts and James Magnussen.
‘I like you. You’re driven, psychologically strong, physically strong, versatile, adaptable, you take on information well… Tonight, I was f**king gutted,’ chief instructor Ant Middleton told her during the interrogation.

Acknowledging her mistake during the escape room exercise, Sabrina confessed that she was ‘pretty disappointed’ in herself.
Asked where she gets her ‘drive’ and ‘attention to detail’ from, Sabrina revealed that growing up, she often had to take care of herself.
‘My parents split up when I was pretty young. My mum remarried an Australian, so we moved over to Australia and lived in Perth for a little bit,’ she explained.

‘I actually felt like I was probably on the outside a bit. I moved to a country-ish town, and I was probably the only English black kid at my school other than my two siblings…
‘Right from the beginning, I felt a bit off, and I was always the tubby kid who was really hands-on and loved sport, and AFL was probably what got me in with the kids at school. Being able to actually play, I managed to develop some friends.’
She later added: ‘I had a British accent, and I almost felt like I didn’t really have someone who understood me.’

Despite her slip up earlier, Sabrina continued to be a clear favourite, with Ant telling her: ‘Keep being you, but just remember, it’s a long way to go and it’s a long way to fall for you as well. Do not take your eye off the ball.’
Earlier in the night, Sabrina had been led into a darkened room, where she was blindfolded and chained up to stake on the wall in front of her.
Feeling around on the wall, she soon located a pair of pliers and managed to cut herself free, exciting the show’s DS.

But their euphoria was short-lived when she quietly snuck out of the escape room and left her fellow recruits behind.
‘She’s f**king done a runner,’ pointed out DS Jason Fox, as they watched on in disappointment.
Added DS Billy Billingham: ‘We always believe no man left behind, because it can lead to death.’
