Sam Smith has insisted that they are ‘still single’ after they were spotted kissing hunky furniture designer Francois Rocci in August.
Talking on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the singer, 28, admitted that they were even ‘chucked off’ dating app Hinge for ‘catfishing’.
Asked about their relationship status, Sam confessed: ‘I’m still single, I’m on the front line with all the single people still and it’s been difficult. I’ve gone on all the apps and stuff.’

They added about dating app Hinge: ‘They chucked me off of it after one night because they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me.’
To which host Andy, 52, said they could get Sam on Tinder as they know someone who can ‘verify’ the singer’s account.
Sam, who prefers to use the pronoun ‘they’, joked: ‘I need to, so I’m going to do Tinder!’
After the interview, Hinge tweeted: ‘Sorry @SamSmith ! We know you’re too good at goodbyes but give us a second chance at finding you (+ @Andy ) someone special. We will verify your profile.’

The revelation comes after the Money On My Mind hitmaker was spotted kissing hunky furniture designer Francois Rocci during a date in August.
Sam looked smitten as they passionately kissed Francois as they walked down the street, before sharing more smooches over a table at a pub.
According to their website, Francois is a French-born designer who graduated with a BA(hons) in Product and Furniture Design from Kingston University, London in 2016. They also have a Masters in Design Product from the Royal College of Art.
A representative for Sam Smith declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.
Sam is no stranger to steamy public PDAs – in February 2018 they were seen enjoying an extremely raunchy kiss with then boyfriend, 13 Reasons Why star, Brandon Flynn, 26.

Back in April the star admitted they freaked out about being single when the coronavirus lockdown started in the UK.
The singer’s last serious relationship was with Brandon in 2018, and the star revealed they immediately turned to dating apps when the restrictions were imposed.
Speaking on SiriusXM, the singer said: ‘For the first two weeks I was like “oh my God I’m single”. I went on this dating thing and it was the worst!
‘And then you get attached to guys, and then you’re forming quarantine relationships over the phone, it’s a dangerous path…’

Sam also revealed they want to date an older person after scouting for matches on the exclusive dating app Raya.
They said: ‘I think I want to be with someone older now. I need someone who has passions and has their own drive.
‘It’s nice to be able to date on your phone. I haven’t done it in years – I just want the romance.’
Sam previously admitted they were hit hard by the pain of the break-up from Brandon and said they felt at their lowest when touring.

Sam said: ‘Being on tour is a bit of a crazy experience, I get really low sometimes on tour.
‘I feel like I sound so depressing all the time when I talk about it, but I get depressed on tour.
‘I think it’s the responsibly and pressure that makes me struggle.’
The Promises hitmaker also confessed that they hated seeing couples being romantic with one another, and often became jealous of other people’s relationships.
Sam admitted: ‘I’ve just gone through a break-up so I’m not in the mood for romance.
‘When I see couples I just want to poke their eyes. It’s hard to be happy for other people when you feel so s**t.’
The hitmaker was previously linked to model Jay Camilleri in 2016 after a brief relationship with model Jonathan Zeizel in 2014.
They were also linked to former Hollyoaks actor Andy Newton-Lee, 39, back in 2016 after the pair were spotted sharing a kiss on a night out.
