SAS Australia: Erin McNaught sides with Candice Warner in her feud with Roxy Jacenko

SAS Australia recruit Erin McNaught sides with Candice Warner in her feud with Roxy Jacenko – and says the publicist SHOULD have fought back

Roxy Jacenko’s bitter feud with Candice Warner on SAS Australia has ended their friendship and resulted in a legal stoush over their business ties.

And fellow celebrity recruit Erin McNaught has weighed in on the rivalry, telling The Morning Show that while she sympathises with Roxy, she is firmly on Team Candice.

Choosing her words carefully, the 38-year-old model told hosts Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur: ‘I don’t know their friendship, I have no idea about that.’

She then addressed the incident that caused the pair’s falling out.

Roxy, 40, and Candice, 35, had been instructed by the directing staff to fight each other in a boxing match. The publicist refused to strike her longtime friend, but the former Ironwoman had no such qualms and threw a series of violent punches.

‘All I do know is that we were told to fight and Roxy didn’t fight,’ Erin said.

‘Just because someone is your friend… Candice was in a tough position. She had to do what she had to do and Roxy chose to not engage and as a result she decided to leave the show.’

Erin hastened to add that Roxy ‘was in a lot of pain’ at the time after fracturing her pelvis in a horse riding accident weeks before the show began filming.

The Sweaty Betty PR founder declared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show last week that she’d ended her years-long friendship with Candice immediately after their boxing match.

A subsequent attempt to reconcile broke down, then Candice decided to part ways with Roxy’s social media influencer agency, The Ministry of Talent.

The wife of cricketer David Warner has since signed with The Ministry of Talent’s main competitor, The Society Agency.

However, Candice’s efforts to sever business ties may be thwarted by a clause in her contract which states that she must provide three months’ notice.

After the two women locked horns on SAS Australia last Monday, Roxy raged on Sydney breakfast radio: ‘You know what? Is [Candice] really my friend anymore? No.’

‘You know why I never hit back? She’s my mate and I’m not going to smack [her] in the face for other people’s entertainment,’ she added.

‘You wouldn’t continue punching when the person – me – turns their back and continue punching them in the back of the head. In boxing, that’s totally not allowed. The reality is, I can’t punch my then-friend in the face for people’s entertainment.’

‘You look back and go, “F**k, I should have whacked her one,” but you know what? I’m bigger than that and I’ve got respect for other people,’ she concluded.

SAS Australia continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel Seven
