”’She would never leave us” hurts to hear; I was kicking myself and still to this day, months on I still kick myself when I think about it.

‘To me people that support me are everything. I quickly understood the task was to do something and by the time I worked out I needed to free the boys – it was too late and I lost focus.

‘A mistake made under pressure, however, this was a pivotal day in my growth and tested whether I would get back up again or continued to let it get to me.

‘We all make mistakes but taking that mistake and turning it into a lesson is a choice. Love you boys. Next week it only get’s tougher.’

Fans slammed the footy player on Twitter after she managed to unchain herself during a kidnapping simulation, but chose to leave James Magnussen and Merrick Watts bound and blindfolded.

‘Why Sabrina? Why?’ tweeted one viewer, while another fan wrote, ‘Not good teamwork there Sabrina’.

During the challenge, Sabrina, James and Merrick were all led into a dark room, where they were blindfolded and chained to a post on the wall.

After feeling around on the wall in front of her, Sabrina soon located a pair of pliers and managed to cut herself free, after which she quietly snuck out of the escape room and left her fellow recruits behind.

Meanwhile, a disbelieving Merrick, 46, couldn’t believe Sabrina would leave him and James behind, after praising her for being a ‘team player’.

‘Sabrina’s a team player. I believe that. I’ve seen her. I’ve seen her give and give and give. Why would she leave us?’ he told James, 29.
