Shanna Moakler is refuting claims that she’s an absent parent, which were made by the two teenage children she shares with ex-husband and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
‘The claims of being absent from my children’s lives are false and incredibly hurtful,’ Moakler, 46, told People on Tuesday, May 18.
‘Co-parenting is hard, but I have always and will continue to prioritize my children’s happiness and well-being.’
Moakler’s response comes less than one day after her 15-year-old daughter Alabama Barker hinted that she has even gone as far as to ‘cut off’ her mother from her life.

In her statement, the former Playboy Playmate opted not to take any sides when it came to the family’s current problems.
‘I refuse to involve them in a vindictive parenting competition where feelings are bound to get hurt. Encouraging relationships with both parents is a duty on both mother and father,’ the model and actress explained.
‘I know one day my children will see through the fame and money machine they have been thrust into and realize their mother loves and will always be there for them.’
Alabama not only took issue with her mother’s parenting, she also slammed her current boyfriend, Matthew Rondeau.

‘Everybody thinks my mother is amazing,’ Alabama wrote.
‘Matthew is nothing but awful to her. Not only that, but he cheats on her. My mom has never completely been in my life. Can you guys stop painting her out to be an amazing mom?’
She added, ‘Did your moms ask to see you on Mother’s Day [because] mine didn’t? I’m done keeping it a secret, reality shows.’
Alabama’s criticism of her mother on Instagram came after her 17-year-old brother Landon shared on TikTok that Moakler ‘isn’t in [their] lives like’ their father.

Alabama also shared a screenshot of a direct message that appears to have been written by her mom that claimed her marriage to Travis Barker ended because he had an affair with Kim Kardashian.
‘I divorced Travis because I caught him having an affair with Kim! Now he’s in love with her sister…It’s all gross…I’m not the bad guy!’ the DM read, in part.
However, a source close to Kim denied the affair ever took place, according to Page Six.
Barker, 45, has been dating Kourtney Kardashian since earlier this year.
In Moakler’s message, she also claimed her ex-husband controls Alabama’s social media and that she ‘gets blamed for [her daughter’s] sexualization.’

Alabama has since disputed that claim about her dad running her social media platforms after the messages were posted on a fan account.
‘That was completely me, she lied I control my Instagram I’m of age,’ the teen wrote.
Along with Alabama and Landon, Moakler also has a 22-year-old daughter Atiana De La Hoya, whose father is former world champion boxer Oscar De La Hoya. Barker, who divorced Moakler in 2008 after about four years of marriage, still plays an active role as step-father to De La Hoya.
Moakler’s well-publicized love life also includes relationships with rocker Billy Idol, actors Dennis Quaid and Gerard Butler, and New Kids ON The Block singer Jordan Knight.
