‘A dream came true’: Sheppard singer George announces engagement to girlfriend Kathleen Seagar – as she shows off her unusual ring
George Sheppard has announced his engagement to Kathleen Seagar.
The musician, who is a member of the Queensland band Sheppard, shared the good news in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
Alongside a photo of the pair on a idyllic beach shared to the official Sheppard Instagram page, George wrote: ‘HOLY MOLY! I just asked @kathleenseagar to marry me and she said YES!

‘I love this girl so much and now I get to spend the rest of my life with her. I’ve never been happier.’
On George’s own page similar photos were shared, with the caption: ‘I finally asked the love of my life to marry me, and she said yes! A lucky man just got even luckier.’
Kathleen likewise shared images of the couple’s happy moment to her own social media.
Alongside a photo of the pair on an idyllic beach shared to the official Sheppard Instagram page, George wrote: ‘HOLY MOLY! I just asked @kathleenseagar to marry me and she said YES!’
He added: ‘I love this girl so much and now I get to spend the rest of my life with her. I’ve never been happier’
She wrote: ‘A dream came true. An incredible holiday made even more memorable. Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you’.
In further photos, Kathleen showed off her gorgeous and unusual ring, which featured a vintage design.
With a large, faceted stone surrounded smaller, ornate sparkling gems, the ring appeared antique or inspired by older styles.

The band consists of three siblings – George, Amy and Emma Sheppard.
They are best known for their single Geronimo, which spent three weeks at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart.
