Snoop Dogg’s daughter Cori Broadus, 21, reveals she recently ‘tried to end’ her life in candid posts about mental health struggle: ‘You and my family really give me a purpose to live’
Cori Broadus, the youngest child of hip hop entertainer Snoop Dogg, is opening up about her private mental health struggles.
The musician, 21, took to social media on Sunday, in a series of posts in which she revealed she recently attempted suicide.
‘The last few weeks my mental has not been so great. At one point I tried to end my life but you & my family really give me a purpose to live & helped me realize life is much more than materialistic things & you gotta just keep pushing through the bulls**t,’ Cori wrote in the caption of the first post on Instagram.

‘THANK YOU… #mentalhealthawareness,’ she added, alongside photos with her boyfriend Wayne Deuce.
Later, she announced in a subsequent post that she would be doing a Live on the topic, to ‘talk about it more in depth so y’all can fully understand.
‘Everybody have problems just cause you rich or come from a rich family don’t mean you can’t go thru s**t nor do you experience s**t,’ she added.
And during the video testimonial, captioned ‘My story,’ Broadus shared more about her struggles.

‘I think it starts from my childhood’ she explained. ‘I grew up with two light-skinned brothers. And I was the only chocolate one. I was overweight. I got lupus at six so I was overweight from being on steroids. That automatically messed with my health.
‘I’ve always been sad and depressed because of my health,’ Cori went on. ‘You’re just in pain and you don’t know what’s going on. And you look at your brothers and other family members and you’re like, “Why? Why me?”
‘Sometimes I just feel like I don’t have a purpose here. I deal with so much health stuff and I feel like people don’t really feel me, like I’m being dramatic. I’ve been through so much s**t. I can’t even physically tell y’all. Because it’s too much,’ she added.
‘I’ve always been sad and depressed because of my health,’ Cori shared. ‘You’re just in pain and you don’t know what’s going on. And you look at your brothers and other family members and you’re like, ‘Why? Why me?’
Cori, who is daughter to Snoop and his wife Shante Broadus, both 49, went on to describe how she took pills and that her aunt intervened before things got too serious.
She also explained that had been evaluated at a mental health facility.
‘As I was in there, I started appreciating everything. I was sitting in there and said, “There are so many people I know I can call.” I want to hug Wayne. I want to hug my mom, my auntie, my nana… God was there with me the whole entire time. And I was talking to Him, like, “Please just relax me, just make me go to sleep.” And it like He just put His hand over. He just calmed me down. He’s always there for me when I need him.’
Cori is younger sister to Snoop’s sons Cordell, 24, and Corde, 26, and half-sister to Julian Corrie, 23, whose mother is Laurie Holmond.
