Sofia Vergara celebrates husband Joe Manganiello’s 44th birthday with cake of their dog Bubbles

Four-time SAG Award winner Sofía Vergara celebrated her second husband Joe Manganiello’s 44th birthday on Monday by getting him a cake featuring a topper resembling their beloved dog Bubbles.

The Colombian 48-year-old – who boasts 44.1M social media followers – gushed: ‘Feliz cumpleaños mi amor!’

The Archenemy action star held his confused pet Chihuahua up to its icing doppelgänger, which was clad in the same camouflage-print vest.  

Joe and Sofía adopted little Bubbles from the LA shelter Dogs Without Borders around November 2019 when they discovered she had a potentially cancerous cyst on her belly.

‘I kind of felt like the universe had handed me this little thing that needed help. And probably the reason why she was at the shelter in the first place – this cute sweet little dog – was because the previous owners, I’m guessing, looked at the fees for surgery and thought, “We can’t do that.” And surrendered her,’ Manganiello recalled on The Drew Barrymore Show on December 16.

‘She was in this spot where she was going to be put down because no families were taking her. She was going to see families and no one was adopting her. I just thought, “No matter what, I’m going to help this little thing out.” She’s been with us ever since. She loves me and she’s just been like the light of our lives since we’ve had her.’

Bubbles might be the closest Vergara and her Italian stallion – who wed in 2015 after a 16-month courtship – come to having children of their own. 

The America’s Got Talent judge was only 19 when she welcomed her son Manolo (now 29) from her two-year marriage to high school sweetheart – mechanic/DJ Joe Gonzalez – which ended in 1993.

And Sofía might be burned out on the idea of IVF following her five-year legal battle against ex-fiancé Nick Loeb over their two female frozen embryos.

Joe’s birthday dinner featuring a DIY buffet of gỏi cuốn aka Vietnamese spring rolls was hosted by Vergara’s gal pal and her husband Todd Cookston.

To mark the occasion, the Walmart collaborator bared her arms in a white-and-navy floral frock featuring a ruffled skirt.

At least seven other guests attended the formal feast at a time when the coronavirus is spiking nationwide.
