Sonia said that hot water for showers would only be available for one hour per day, hinting that tensions may rise when stars miss out on warm water.

She also provided a mini-tour of the Big Brother compound, which is located in Manly, Sydney.

Broadcasting from the backyard, she showed viewers the glass-walled pool, ‘living wall’ of plants, and herb garden.

‘It is a very nice backyard. It has this living wall. I think it has herbs in there that the housemates can use in their cooking.

She then revealed there was a ‘secret room’ in the house.

‘There’s a secret room in the house that no-one has seen,’ she said, adding cryptically that some will be happy about it and others won’t.

Sonia also explained the new eviction process to viewers by letting fans know whoever wins a challenge will get to make the nomination.

She said all challenges will be completed in the basement, under the house.

‘Those three people are voted by the house. Somebody goes home and two people stay and those people now know that you nominated them.’

While past seasons have seen the audience vote the housemates out, the game now involves strategy with the housemates.

Sonia admitted that it does make housemates ‘paranoid’.

‘That makes things a little bit awkward. Strategy is going to be important in this game now because you have to make sure you have enough numbers on your side.’

She also let fans know that an eviction will take place on the first night of the show.
