Sonia Kruger reveals why ‘life is easier’ working for Channel Seven instead of Nine – as she prepares to host new season of Big Brother

Sonia Kruger has shared the unexpected perk of working for Channel Seven, almost two years after she defected from the network’s competitor Nine.

Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph, the age-defying 55-year-old revealed that her marriage has benefitted from the switch, as she and her Seven news executive husband Craig McPherson now work for the same employer.

‘[Back when I was at Seven] it was a case of one of us coming home every day in a good mood and the other one coming home in a bad mood,’ she said.

‘I can say that life is definitely easier cheering for the same team.’

Sonia had previously described feeling ‘awkward’ in her marriage prior to making the high-profile move to Seven.

‘It’s really nice to be barracking for the same team again because it can get awkward,’ she told the Not Here To Make Friends podcast last year.

‘Like when you say, ‘Yay! My team won!’ But to be on the same side again is a good thing.’

Sonia went on to reveal that Craig loves her show Big Brother, and tunes in regularly.

‘I watch him while he watches Big Brother just to get his reaction because he’s kind of not really the target audience,’ she mused.
