Stacey Dooley and Kevin enjoying romantic Portugal getaway

They stole viewers’ hearts when they won the Strictly Come Dancing crown together in 2018, and have been dating since April last year.

And Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton looked loved up as they made a rare joint appearance while enjoying a romantic tour of Lisbon Portugal on Tuesday.

Appearing engrossed in their phones, Stacey, 33, and Kevin, 37, relaxed in the sunshine in front of a cafe together before packing on the PDA when they went for a went for a walkabout in the city’s narrow streets.

Stacey dressed for comfort in matching grey bottoms and an oversized pullover, and wore open-toe sandals for chilled-out look.

The documentary film-maker kept her long ginger locks back in a high ponytail and completed her look with some oval-frame shades.

And her dancing beau Kevin went all black in a pair of smart trousers and T-shirt, as well as donning some retro dark wayfarer sunglasses.

The couple put their affection on full display as they held hands and Stacey took several adorable snaps on Kevin on her phone.

On Saturday, sources close to the pair suggested their high phone use could be down to them planning their next big career move after ITV bosses ‘singled them out’ as potential stars.

Earlier this month Kevin revealed that he was quitting Strictly to ‘focus on other projects’, while Stacey, 33, is currently on a £250,000 a year deal with the BBC.

‘ITV are very interested in signing Kevin and Stacey. Their view is that they would make a great presenting couple for the channel,’ a source allegedly told the Sun.

‘Stacey obviously has a great deal of presenting experience from her time at the BBC, and Kevin has performed well in TV screen tests in the past.

‘They would hope bringing them on board would attract BBC viewers, and they seem to both appeal to a wide audience, which is another advantage.

Kevin had revealed his decision in an emotional Instagram post earlier this month, admitting he ‘wanted to leave on a high’.

In last year’s show he and partner Anneka Rice finished 14th as they became the second pair to be eliminated from the competition, but then won the Christmas special dancing with Debbie McGee, and marks his last time on the dance floor.

In his first four years, Kevin held an incredible record of four 2nd places finishes with celebrities including Susanna Reid, Kellie Bright and Louise Redknapp. 

In a lengthy post the dancer, who was paid a reported £50k per series, explained his surprise decision, telling fans: ‘To the entire Strictly family, The past 7 years have been some of the most wonderful years of my life.

‘I am grateful to the BBC and Strictly Come Dancing for giving me the opportunity to have been a part of something truly special.

‘Since first being called “Kevin From Grimsby” by Sir Bruce Forsyth in 2013 I have experienced the highs of 5 finals, winning a Guinness World record on It Takes Two, the Strictly Arena tour glitterball and then the ultimate of winning the 2018 series with Stacey Dooley.’
