Jamie’s outing comes it’s been revealed that his fellow Strictly Come Dancing star HRVY, 21, has tested positive for coronavirus.

Reality star Jamie is set to return to Strictly later this month, after pulling out of last year’s show after sustaining an injury.

But he appeared on fine form as he put on a smitten display with Sophie during their outing in the capital this week.

The blonde star gripped his girlfriend’s hand as they walked as Sophie, also clad in relaxed workout wear, smiled.

Jamie and Sophie have been together for nearly two years, despite rocky beginnings, and he insisted the infamous Strictly curse won’t come between them.

He said of the curse – which has struck down couples throughout the show’s 16 years on the air, seeing celebs get together with their pro partners, dancers split from their real-life spouses and celebrities’ marriages not survive the course of the show – that he is being asked repeatedly about it.

‘I am being asked all the time about the Strictly curse and do you know poor Sophie had no clue about this whole curse thing,’ Jamie said. ‘She had no idea that everyone couples up when they do Strictly Come Dancing.

‘But, hey listen, I don’t think I am a bad guy so I don’t think it will be too bad in the end.

‘I am not going to kiss my dancer. It is not like I am going to be some magnet, you know? I don’t think the dancer is going to come anywhere near me.’

It comes as it’s been reported that the Strictly Come Dancing cast and production crew will be tested for Covid-19 after celebrity contestant HRVY revealed he had caught the virus.

The 21-year-old singer and YouTube star tested positive just days after mixing with his co-stars on the BBC show and must remain in isolation until next Thursday.

That date is just four days before the celebrities are partnered up with professional dancers, with the development representing a major blow for programme bosses.

HRVY is still set to take part in the launch show, depending on a negative test result, and came into contact with a handful of crew who all then isolated and got tested.

However a source said his positive test was ‘the worst-case scenario for Strictly, as they’ve gone to extreme lengths to make the show safe up to this point’.

A spokesman for the show insisted all celebrities on the show are ‘tested regularly’ and claimed that the positive test has had ‘minimal impact on production’.

The launch show will air on BBC One in just over two weeks’ time on October 17 while the first live show of a pared-down nine week run will be broadcast on October 24.

If HRVY – real name Harvey Cantwell – is not well when he finishes his isolation period next week, he will be axed from the competition.

A smiling HRVY confirmed in a social media video that he was asymptomatic, but admitted he was ‘bored’ because he has to stay in his bedroom for the next 14 days.
