Strictly’s Jamie Laing looks in good spirits as he arrives for rehearsals with Karen Hauer

Jamie Laing looked in good spirits as he arrived for Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals alongside his partner Karen Hauer on Monday.

The couple lived to see another day as they survived the dance-off on Sunday night’s show with Clara Amfo and Aljaz Skorjanec sent home.

The Made In Chelsea star, 32, cut a casual figure as he prepared to get back to work, donning a green and gold jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Jamie also sported a black T-shirt along with a dark brown cap and white trainers as he gave a thumbs up on his way into the dance studio.

Carrying a face mask in his hand, the reality star completed his look with a black bag.

Karen was also in high spirits after surviving elimination as she arrived to the studio in a khaki coat with a purple fur lined hood.

The dancer wore a pair of pink leggings with a star print along with white trainers while she carried a lemon handbag.

It comes after Jamie and Karen landed in the bottom two alongside Clara and Aljaz and were saved by the judges.

The dancing duos both had to perform their routines again for the judges on Sunday’s show, with Clara dancing a Jive to River Deep – Mountain High by Tina Turner and Jamie a Tango to Tanguera by Sexteto Mayor.

However it was Clara who became the fifth celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly.

As she received news that she would be the next star to depart the show, Clara said: ‘I’ve had the best time ever, the best time ever and got a new friend for life. I’ve loved it. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever ever done, it’s been a dream come true.’

A ‘gutted’ Aljaz shared some parting words with his dance partner, as he playfully combined her first name with a list of classic ballroom dances.

He said: ‘First I’m really gutted. All I really want to tell you is I’m so happy we got to do Lady Clamalade, the Claraston, which I’ve never done before in my life, the Clarasambafo you are a dream to be around, you’re a beautiful girl inside out, I hope that people at home got to see that.

‘This series has been so special and its only because of you, thank you so much. I’m going to miss dancing with you.

Clara and Aljaz had failed to impress with their Jive to Tina Turner, scoring a paltry 19 out of 30. Jamie and Karen were second from the bottom with 24 out of 30 points.

After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts.

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Clara and Aljaz, saying: ‘My goodness it’s a really difficult one, both couples I thought were absolutely incredible and danced with so much passion and love but the couple I would like to save, Clara and Aljaz.’

Motsi Mabuse, who was returning to the show after isolating for two weeks, chose to save Jamie and Karen.

Motsi said: ‘I have to say this was one of the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make and based on that dance off only I saw one couple that did their choreography and had all the steps correct…

‘I saw another couple who had a mistake in the steps and in the timing. So I’m going to choose for me, I’m saving Jamie and Karen.’

Head judge Shirley Ballas had the deciding vote and chose to save Jamie and Karen

Shirley said: ‘Well this is a very difficult series, I mean every couple is outstanding and I felt on this occasion that both couples totally lifted their game, but there was one couple they just convinced me.

‘They had conviction from step to step, they believed in their performance and therefore I’m going to save Jamie and Karen’.
