Sam Armytage has revealed she hasn’t spoken to her former Sunrise colleagues after quitting the Channel Seven breakfast show last month.
The journalist, 44, told The Daily Telegraph she hadn’t reached out because she was simply enjoying some ‘quiet time’ in the NSW Southern Highlands with her husband, Richard Lavender.
‘It’s only been a few weeks so I’ve had a quiet time and haven’t spoken to anyone [from Sunrise],’ she said.

Sam and new husband Richard Lavender are living together down at his property in the Southern Highlands and the pair have had her father Mac living at the property after his stroke in November.
Sam added: ‘Life is good, life is great.’
Sam, who joined Sunrise in 2013, resigned last month in order to spend more time with her family and her new husband Richard Lavender.

Her last day on air was Thursday March 11.
Last month, David and Natalie revealed they weren’t invited to Sam’s farewell party, which was held at Catalina restaurant in Sydney’s Rose Bay.
The duo appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show and said they weren’t told about the event, despite the likes of The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies attending.

‘Why didn’t you two go to Sam’s farewell party?’ radio host Kyle Sandilands asked. ‘All the photographers were there, but I didn’t see you there.’
Kochie then let slip they hadn’t been invited.
‘We didn’t know about it and we had a postponed Christmas party the next day,’ he said, noting that the Sunrise team is strict about events because of their early starts.
Natalie added: ‘And we had been having champagne in the office for a while.’
The pair also strongly denied rumours Sam had been forced to leave Seven’s top-rating breakfast show.

Kochie denied Sam had been pushed out, saying she ‘just wanted a change of life’ after marrying Bowral businessman Richard Lavender.
‘No, no, Sam just wanted a change of life, she got married,’ he said.
Before leaving the show, Sam made headlines when she spoke about the toxic environment of the TV industry in an article for Stellar magazine.
‘There’s a lot about television that’s all about you and that’s an awful way to live your life. TV isn’t a place that’s necessarily very healthy,’ she said.
‘It’s full of sociopaths and narcissists. It can be a dangerous environment, let me tell you.’
She also said unmarried, childless women in television were treated differently and given more work compared to their married counterparts.
Her remarks upset her colleagues and executives at Seven, and were described by some insiders as tantamount to ‘career suicide’.
