Tess joked that while she had the hots for her other half during his appearance on the show, but admitted she wasn’t a fan of the bandana he wore.

Speaking on The Midpoint podcast, she told host Gabby Logan: ‘I would say to Phoebe [daughter], ‘Your dad, doesn’t he look handsome there?’ I did totally fancy him in there but not when he had that bandana.’

She continued: ‘He’s the calm one in our house, I’m the one who sort of vibrates at a much higher frequency and runs around like a blue bottle in a jar.

‘So he’s the calm one and it was lovely seeing those qualities sort of reaffirm and just enjoying him sharing that sort of compassionate side that he has with everybody and watching that.

Vernon had also previously spoke about what his daughters made of his appearance on I’m A Celebrity on the Netmums podcast Sweat, Snot and Tears.

He said: ‘We’ve got a sixteen-year-old. And if you revert back to when we were sixteen, peer pressure, being on trend, being respected by your peers and all that kind of stuff.

‘It was a big thing for Phoebe that I didn’t embarrass us when I went in there. I had the old ‘oh dad don’t do any of your dad jokes, don’t do any dad dancing’, all that kind of stuff I revel in at home, by embarrassing the kids by doing stupid gags.

The former Family Fortunes host also revealed how his family welcomed him home after he finished the show in third place.

Vernon said: ‘When I came home, they’d created a banner for me and they’d made cupcakes and they’d spelt I’m a Celebrity on the cupcakes and welcome home dad and they’d got a crown and they made cards, and I got the biggest squeeze from the girls, ever.

And Phoebe, she said, ‘Dad before you tell us anything, we’ve got to watch it together’, and on the Sky planner in every episode, she’d found the spot where I was involved in the show, and we went through all twenty episodes, and she’d got every single episode lined up for where I was in.

‘It was amazing, it was so cool. Then after that I had a million questions from both of them.’
