The Bachelor star Zoe-Clare McDonald had a meltdown on the show on Wednesday due to being the ‘only redhead’ in the mansion. 

And now it’s been revealed that the 23-year-old ‘oppressed ranga’ hasn’t always had flame-haired locks. 

Zoe-Clare once was a bottle blonde and looks remarkably different with lighter hair.

She dyed her hair back in early 2018 and posted numerous pictures of herself on Instagram at the time. 

But the walk on the lighter side only lasted a year for Zoe-Clare, who dyed her hair back to her natural colour in March last year. 

Underneath a post by The Wash, which showed a before and after of Zoe-Clare, fans couldn’t believe that she was once a blonde.

‘This is gold,’ one fan wrote underneath. 

Another added: ‘OMG… we’re all living for this show now in ISO.’ 

During Wednesday night’s premiere, Zoe-Clare was sent into a rage after Areeba Emmanuel, 25, interrupted her discussion with Locky.

‘To me, it’s disrespectful. If she wants to act the child, that’s fine,’ she told producers.

She continued: ‘I’m the only redhead in the whole entire house… The only colours are blonde or brunette, and then there’s me. I think that’s exactly why Areeba is targeting me. It’s the red hair. It’s just…it’s not appropriate.’

‘What’s wrong with a ranga? Yeah. Do you want me to dye my hair every 10 seconds because you don’t like my colour? I’m so sorry, but this is natural, guys. It’s not going anywhere.’ 

Zoe-Clare also became ill and was forced to skip the ceremony, prompting fans to share their own theories why she wasn’t in attendance.

‘Zoe-Clare went to Priceline to get a bottle of hair dye instead of going to the rose ceremony,’ one fan joked.

The Bachelor continues Thursday at 7.30pm on Channel Ten
