The Bachelor recreates the same fencing date from Ali Oetjen’s season

Viewers of The Bachelor were treated to an innuendo-filled fencing date between Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska on Wednesday.

And it turns out that it’s not the first time that this style of date has been used on the show, with Ali Oetjen and Todd King doing the same activity on The Bachelorette in 2018.

‘I’m sure it’ll be fun getting poked around with Locky’s sword today,’ Irena giggled in the scene.

Locky told Irena that she makes him ‘feel so good’ when they’re together, and she replied: ‘Yeah, it’s strange, because I feel the same way.’

Irena then asked Locky if he was open to having children, and he responded: ‘I love kids, absolutely love kids. Being a dad would be so much fun.’

He added: ‘It’s so crazy how quick I’ve gained feelings for you. Every time I look at you, I just feel so good.’

In 2018, Ali joked about getting ‘poked’ by Todd during her own date in 2018.

There’s now little doubt that Irena wins Locky’s heart on The Bachelor, after the pair shared intense chemistry all throughout Wednesday’s episode.

The 31-year-old nurse’s Sportsbet odds were slashed again overnight – from $1.60 to $1.50 – while those of her closest rival Bella Varelis lengthened from $2.85 to $3.25.

As previous seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have shown, betting odds are rarely wrong when it comes to predicting the winner.

The latest figures, which are either the result of insider knowledge or an influx of bets for Irena, all but confirm that she takes the crown.

As the odds continue to swing in Irena’s favour with each passing episode, it is looking more likely that Bella will be the heartbroken runner-up.
