The Bachelor’s casting directors reportedly had a tough time finding women to date the hunky new lead, Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert.

‘Disinterested’ Bachelorettes were said to be unwilling to uproot their life to another country after learning that the former Survivor AU star spent half of his year overseas in Bali working on his own adventure company, Four Elements Adventure.

One production insider told Woman’s Day about the impending season: ‘There was a revolving door of women, it was quite a headache for casting’.

Un-Locky in love? The Bachelor’s casting directors reportedly had a tough time finding women to date the hunky new lead, Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert

Known for his need of thrill, speed and adventure, Locky’s company aptly runs guided tours across Bali and its surrounding islands.

And after realising that the reality star would be spending most of his time on the Indonesian island to ensure the success of the business, prospective contestants weren’t willing to start over in a new country.

‘A lot of women were disinterested – it was just hard to get them to sign up and compete for a guy who spends half his life in another country,’ the source continued.

Producers supposedly had to work overtime to ‘encourage the girls to take the process seriously and put it all on the line for him.’

Tensions were so high over the matter that the ‘awkward’ first few weeks of filming even had women coming to blows over who would seriously consider leaving their friends and family behind to start over in Bali.

Despite the casting struggles, the Perth-based adventure tour guide, 30, assured fans of the show that he would find love at the end of the series.

Locky told The Daily Telegraph: ‘I can definitely assure you I am madly in love. It’s an amazing feeling and to be able to say it out aloud now, it’s a really good feeling.

‘It’s definitely a love story that everyone will remember. It’s a crazy ride, I’ll tell ya that,’ he added.
