Brooke Blurton is set to make history after being named as the first openly bisexual Bachelorette.

The 25-year-old Bachelor alum said she’s ‘ready’ to help smash the reality TV show’s conventions in an interview with The Daily Telegraph on Thursday.

The forthcoming series will see both men and women competing for her affections.

It will mark the first time globally that any of the Bachelor or Bachelorette franchises will feature a mixed-gender cast.

When asked how she felt audiences would take the change, Brooke admitted, ‘I am not too sure if Australia is ready for it.’

‘I certainly am,’ the Indigenous star stated.

‘If it makes people feel uncomfortable in any way, I really challenge them to think about why it does,’ continued the Bachelor in Paradise star.

Brooke has dated men and women in the past.

She addressed her sexuality on The Bachelor in 2018, telling leading man Nick Cummins, ‘I’ve had four relationships… one with a guy…

‘But I’ve also had two relationships with women.

‘When I was in those relationships, I looked beyond what they were as female and I really loved [them] for who they were as people.’

In March, rumours swirled Brooke was dating 26-year-old singer Georgia Flipo, better known by her stage name G Flip.

The two women had attended Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras with each other and even celebrated Valentine’s Day together.
