The Bachelorette New Zealand: Shock when one of the two female leads picks NO ONE

Pulling a Honey Badger! The Bachelorette New Zealand fans left shocked when one of the two female leads picks NO ONE during finale

The Bachelorette New Zealand has made history by having two female leads in one season – but the move hasn’t been without controversy.

And the shocks kept coming, with one of the two women walking away having chosen no  one – just like  former Bachelor Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins did in 2018 when he failed to pick between Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley.

Dr Lesina Nakhid-Schuster, 32, walked away from the show a single woman after having turned down finalists Aaron McNabb and Quinn Ryan.

All by herself! Dr Lesina Nakhid-Schuster, 32, walked away from The Bachelorette New Zealand a single woman after having turned down finalists Aaron McNabb and Quinn Ryan on Monday night’s finale

She told Aaron in an emotional scene:  ‘You know this was such a hard decision for me but I’ve decided I don’t want to take anyone to the final rose.

‘What I wanted out of this experience was to find my forever person, and if I hadn’t found that I didn’t want to pretend that I had.’

The doctor went on to say that she was happy with her decision, calling it ’empowering’.

Her fellow Bachelorette Lily McManus, 22, had a rather happier ending, finding love with one of the contestants.

Lily handed the final rose to Wanaka-based clothing designer Richie Boyens.

First, she gently turned down the runner-up, former radio personality Jesse Williamson.

Lily told him: ‘You’re a beautiful, gentle man inside and out. But this isn’t about you any more – it’s about us now, and my heart is telling me it’s not us. you make me really happy and I know you’re going to make someone else happy.’

She had better news for Richie, telling him that she hoped they could settled down together.
