‘I am devastated I didn’t get more time’: The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield reveals her heartbreak over shock family death

Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield has revealed her heartbreak at the death of her beloved grandmother. 

The 24-year-old shared a beautiful portrait photograph of her ‘grandma’ before adding a sweet message after her passing this morning.  

‘I love you, Grandma. Thank you for always making [sister Jolie] and me crepes and fresh orange juice,’ she wrote.

‘Rest In Peace. I am devastated I didn’t get more time.’ 

Abbie’s sister Jolie offered similar sentiments: ‘Woke up this morning to news that my beautiful grandma has passed away. 

‘She was like a second parent to [Abbie Chatfield] and I. We lived with her for a few years as kids while mum studied her masters.’

She went on to share a beautiful memory.  

‘Every morning we would wake up and grandma and pa would juice a whole bag of oranges. 

‘Then we’d go into the office with our OJ and she would play Kerry Dancing and I Love You Truly on the piano for pa while Abbie and I sang along.’

A number of Abbie’s co-stars offered their condolences. Bachelor star Nichole Wood wrote: ‘Sorry for your loss abbie girl!’ 

While Love Island Australia star Phoebe Thompson wrote: ‘Sending you so much love beautiful xx.’

The reality star spent much of her childhood in Queensland. Prior to entering The Bachelor mansion she worked as an analyst.

Abbie rose to fame on The Bachelor last year, when she was left heartbroken when Matt Agnew broke up with her during the season finale.
