The Masked Singer: Bob Saget removes Squiggly Monster mask after nearly everyone identifies comic

Bob Saget was revealed to be the Squiggly Monster on Wednesday’s episode of The Masked Singer.

Nearly all of the show’s panelists knew it was the former Full House comedian, 64, whom they identified by his voice, height and sense of humor.

They cheered as Bob pulled off his mask and he congratulated them all for the work they did.

‘We’re all going through a tough time,’ Bob said. ‘I get to be part of your joy… and it’s needed so bad.’

Several panelists knew Bob personally, including Robin Thicke, 43, who said Bob gave a speech at his father Alan Thicke’s wedding rehearsal dinner.

Bob noted that panelist Ken Jeong, 51, recently had been asking him via text to drop by the show, but he’d played it cool, saying, ‘No, I’m really busy.’

Ken said Bob had seen him do stand-up in Los Angeles decades ago, and was ‘so supportive.’

‘You can tell when someone is special, and someone is funny, and someone is a comedian at heart,’ Bob returned. ‘Not only that, but you were a doctor, and you gave me a free exam.’

Asked what he liked best about being Squiggly Monster, Bob said, ‘Taking it off.’

The only panelist who didn’t know it was Bob under that Squiggly exterior was Nicole Scherzinger, 42, who thought it could be Veep actor Gary Cole, 64.

While in costume, Bob sang The Rolling Stones’ (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, and earned praise from Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, 48, who crowed, ‘You can sing! You can really sing!’

Squiggly’s video found him sitting in an ‘Oval Office,’ where he observed that despite his ‘colorful exterior’ and ‘unbridled handsomeness,’ he’d gone through tough times, having experienced tragedy and bullying as a kid.

Laughter, he said, was his ‘best medicine’—and he urged the show’s viewers to ’embrace the silly daily,’ acknowledging that life was short.

The package clues found him slipping on a banana peel, a nod to Bob’s gig hosting ABC’s America’s Funniest Videos. The fraction 1/100 referenced his NBC game show, 1 vs. 100, while presidential puns alluded to his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln on Netflix’s Historical Roasts.

A teddy bear clue pointed to Bob’s role as Ted Mosby on the CBS show How I Met Your Mother; a mention of ‘family’ and ‘DJ,’ drew a straight line to characters on his ABC sitcom Full House.

Other guesses included the actors Ted Danson, 72, and David Hasselhoff, 68; the model Fabio, 61; politician Al Gore, 71, and either half of the hip-hop duo The Ying Yang Twins.

Season two winner Wayne Brady, 48, served as a special guest panelist for the episode, entering the set dressed as ‘Mr. TV’ and singing Maroon Five’s Memories.

He called Saget an inspiration to all TV hosts, and one of ‘the funniest, dirtiest comedians of all time.’

The season four episode was a playoffs match between four contestants in Group C, whom Nicole called a ‘wacky’ bunch.

The Mushroom sang first, doing a cover of Cher’s If I Could Turn Back Time that had show host Nick Cannon, 40, saying, ‘We are in the presence of greatness.’

In a video, the Mushroom recalled that in high school, he was offbeat, ‘a nerd, an outcast.’

‘I often felt like I didn’t belong anywhere,’ he said. ‘Compared with the other fungi, I had totally different roots. I was around strange food and customs. But then I realized that under the surface, we’re all entangled together as one. Even a porcini or cremini can be a prom queeni.’

Visual clues included orange juice, eggs, deer, black beetles, Mean Girl movie references, Santa Claus, prom, rhinestone glasses, and a brain.

Guesses included the singers Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino, 37, Adam Lambert, 38, and Jaden Smith, 22.

Next up was Broccoli, who crooned a lonely version of Lionel Richie’s Hello that had Nicole saying, ‘Broccoli has my heart this season.’

‘I feel like I’m a success story for the Masked Singer diet plan,’ Broccoli joked in his video, referring to his ‘steamy’ costume. He’d always dreamt of being a broccoli and enriching others’ lives, he added. One day, a ‘legendary friend’ called the Big Cheese asked him to help with ‘a project,’ and he pulled an all-nighter before ‘cooking up a beauty that really packed a punch.’

‘I made something special, but even I couldn’t imagine the classic I created,’ Mushroom affirmed. ‘And all from one meal!’

Clues include the word ‘Foodfellas,’ the Copacabana, cabbage, the number 900, Swiss cheese, a guitar, the time 6:00, the numbers 3-7-2-6-5, a Hawaiian pizza, and a roulette wheel.

Guesses included the singer Wayne Newton, 78, and actors Martin Short, 70, and Jason Alexander, 61.

The Jellyfish then sang a pretty version of Patsy Cline’s Crazy that led Wayne to say, ‘I’m so floored by you.’

In a video, Jellyfish called herself ‘one of the best’ in her field. She admitted that she missed her family while on the show, calling her parents ‘the seas’ knees,’ and referring to her dad as her ‘ride-or-die’ who ‘helped engineer’ her ‘whole world, and taught me the best life hacks.’

‘For years he’d wake up at 3 a.m., put me in the car, and I’d wake up at gigs in faraway lands,’ Jellyfish confessed. ‘Tonight, I’m gonna use my dad’s wisdom to fight off the nerves.’

Her clues included a movie projector, a pair of glasses, the time 7:20, a ship called the USS Big Bird, a Casablanca couple, yoga, a candle, a rock band, cereal, a tiger, ‘XOXO,’ and a light saber.

Guesses included the model Sofia Richie, 22, singer Halle Bailey, 20, and the actresses Lana Condor, 23, and Jamie Lynn Spears, 29.
