Chart-topper! Justin Bieber has teamed up with the UK’s NHS Trust Choir in a bid to claim this year’s Christmas Number One, according to reports on Sunday

‘Especially in these difficult times, I’m humbled to team up with them for a charity single that will benefit NHS workers on the frontlines of this pandemic and pay tribute to their unbelievable dedication.’

Married couple Zoe Davies and Tom Jackson make up part of the NHS Trust Choir and they spoke about their excitement of working with Justin amid the current pandemic.

The endocrinologist Zoe, 37, said: ‘Seriously I remember joking about us doing a duet and now it’s happening. I just feel incredibly lucky and grateful for the opportunities the choir has given me.

‘Not only have I had the chance to promote the NHS but it really has been live-changing for me.’

According to Zoe, landing at the top of the charts in 2015 was the most ‘insane feeling’ and that they hope to do it again.

Instead of fighting for the number one five years ago, Justin had urged his Twitter followers to purchase, A Bridge Over You, which was the song recorded by the choir of nurses, doctors and NHS staff.

At the time, Justin’s track, Love Yourself, was pipped to the post at the final moment after he wrote online: ‘So for 1 week it’s ok not to be #1. Let’s do the right thing & help them win. It’s Christmas.@Choir_NHS good luck.’

After his comment blew up on social media, the NHS team had the opportunity to meet the star, and a strong connection was formed.

Justin commented on their meeting: ‘I was honoured to meet everyone from the choir and I’m really happy that they got their number one.’

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir reunited with the Canadian singer at Abbey Road Studios in St John’s Wood this year to record the new track, Holy, which could be a cover of his September record of the same name.

Zoe’s husband and fellow choir member, Tom, said the experience was ‘mind blowing’ and assured the publication that it is an ‘awesome song’ which emphasises the importance of human connection.

The NHS couple confirmed that it has been a challenging year for themselves and other workers on the frontline.

Zoe admitted it has been a ‘bit depressing’ in recent months, but hopes the new track will be a ‘real boost’ for medical and non-medical workers alike.
