Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little like to keep things breezy and light-hearted on their Hit Network radio show Carrie & Tommy.

But things took a serious turn on Wednesday when Carrie, 40, revealed she had a nasty eye infection and asked listeners to help her find a proper diagnosis.

She explained on air she’d developed a strange eye problem overnight, and asked: ‘Is there a doctor in the house? Look at my eye! I need a genuine doctor. I need help.’

Ouch! Things took a serious turn on the Carrie & Tommy radio show on Wednesday when host Carrie Bickmore, 40, revealed she had woken up with a nasty eye infection

Before any listeners had the chance to call through, Tommy, 35, yelled out: ‘Ah! Oh, my God. Mate, what is that?’

Carrie then explained she had visited a pharmacy with executive producer Sonder Novak-Booth earlier in the day.

She revealed Sonder had ‘almost vomited’ and nearly fainted after inspecting Carrie’s eye infection.

Later in the show, a Hit FM staffer dropped by to take a closer look at Carrie’s eye and snapped a photo of it to share on the show’s social media accounts.

By this point, the squeamish executive producer had become so distressed by what was happening that she threw up in a bin and left the studio.

Carrie then said: ‘It’s a horror show… all I’m going to say is it I thought I had a stye. It hurts on the outside like a stye, but it’s a white lump.’

Diagnosis: After the segment aired, the Carrie & Tommy show shared pictures on Instagram of Carrie's 'mangy' eye. Several listeners suggested it could be a stress-induced stye
