The Real Housewives of Melbourne set for a cast overhaul after Gina’s exit

Rumours swirl Foxtel will overhaul The Real Housewives of Melbourne cast just weeks after Gina Liano quit

Gina Liano recently revealed she would not return to The Real Housewives of Melbourne set for its fifth season.

And three weeks after calling it quits, rumours are swirling Foxtel will overhaul the cast for the upcoming series.

Sources have hinted up to four new Housewives could make an appearance on the next season, reports the Herald Sun

The series was initially scheduled to film in March last year, but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The stars of the show include Gina, Gamble Breaux, Janet Roach, Lydia Schiavello, Cherry Dipietrantonio, Kyla Kirkpatrick and Anjali Rao.

The rumours come after barrister Gina announced last month she was pulling out of the show, despite producers’ best efforts to convince her to stay.

Production company Matchbox Pictures is now on a mission to find a new ‘leading woman’, an insider told New Idea on March 22.

Gina had been on RHOM since its premiere in 2014.

The last cast shake-up came in February last year, when Cherry, Kyla and Anjali joined the Foxtel series.

‘It’s a big responsibility having a public profile, even though I swear and carry on and maybe act a bit irresponsible,’ Gina previously told News Corp

‘I got back into my own life, it was peaceful and I quite enjoyed it and I was hesitant to come back only for that reason.

‘I think there might be a time where I don’t come back just because my life will keep moving.’

No premiere date has been confirmed for season five of The Real Housewives of Melbourne.

Could this be the reason? Gina, who has been on the show since premiering in 2014, will reportedly depart the series to make room for new additions
