Michael Bublé makes surprise appearance on The Voice Australia over FaceTime after contestant says he’s always compared to the star

Michael Bublé made a surprise appearance on Sunday’s The Voice Australia.

Guy Sebastian video called Michael to listen to contestant Jake Meywes sing, after all four coaches compared his Blind Audition to the Canadian crooner.

Despite failing to make it the next round of the competition, Jake was thrilled to sing for his idol, especially after Michael then complimented his ‘smooth’ vocals.

Guy took out his iPhone to FaceTime Michael after Jake sang Feeling Good.

‘Hi Michael, I’m at The Voice, we’ve just heard an artist sing and his voice is obviously influenced by you,’ explained Guy, as Jake stood in disbelief.

‘Can you listen to him sing for two seconds, is that alright?’

Michael was instantly impressed by Jake’s voice, saying: ‘Don’t get too famous! Dude, you sound great. You have a nice smooth tone.’

Before his audition, Jake said he’s always compared to Michael.

‘I’d say I’m a new age crooner. People have at times compared me to Michael Bublé with the sort of style that I sing,’ he said to producers.

‘I’m not in that company just yet, but hopefully being on the show will put me somewhat closer. If I’m compared to [Michael], that’s a fantastic thing.’
