The Voice stars reunited in Sydney as filming resumes following a three month lockdown

The Voice stars reunite in Sydney after lockdown to resume filming – as international judges Boy George and Kelly Rowland enlist local co-coaches while remaining overseas

The Voice Australia has resumed filming following a production halt for almost three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And on Sunday, a few of the Channel Nine singing competition’s finalists were spotted in Sydney’s Western Suburbs – not far from the show’s set.

With most stars residing in separate states around Australia, it’s believed the show’s successful finalists have since flown back to Sydney to continue filming.

The five spotted contestants, either on Guy Sebastian or Delta Goodrem’s teams, are all non-Sydney residents.

Stellar Perry and Janie Gordon are usually Melbourne-based, Matt Evans lives in Perth, and Stephanie Cole and Adam Ludewig are from Adelaide.

The reality contestants appeared to be good spirits, and happily posed for selfies with fans who recognised them from the TV show.

The group, who are all being coached by local judges, are the few singers to be unaffected by news of Boy George and Kelly Rowland coaching remotely.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic restricting travel, both international judges have enlisted local singers to help co-coach their contestants in Australia.

The Veronicas’ Jess and Lisa Origliasso will help mentor Team George, while Marcia Hines will assist with Kelly’s contestants.

Boy George and Kelly will still appear in the series and have been coaching their teams remotely via FaceTime and satellite.

The show has since resumed filming at the show’s new Moorebank location.

The addition of guest mentors won’t be the only changes fans can expect to see on the show.

According to The Voice’s executive producer, Leigh Aramberri, the show’s set had to be completely rebuilt midway through filming to adhere to social distancing restrictions.

Filming of season nine was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

‘Filming of The Voice has been temporarily postponed in the wake of the coronavirus and new Government protocols,’ a spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia at the time.
