The Weeknd cuts a cool figure in a denim jacket as he leaves dinner date… after attending Kendall Jenner’s heavily criticised birthday bash

He looked incredible as The Nutty Professor for Kendall Jenner’s heavily criticised Halloween-themed 25th birthday bash on Saturday night.

Yet The Weeknd was looking more like himself again on Monday evening, as he was seen leaving dinner at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The singer, 30, cut a casually cool figure in a T-shirt and denim bomber jacket while making his way into the swanky restaurant.

The Weeknd styled his look with a pair of blue distressed jeans and a pair of platform Converse, while accessorising with a palm tree pendant necklace.

The Canadian star covered his face with a black mask in line with California state guidelines to protect himself against the coronavirus pandemic.

The Weeknd was one of the guests at Kendall’s birthday bash, however the party has come under fire for its apparent lack of social distancing.

Every guest and employee on site had to have a negative rapid COVID-19 test before entering the party, according to E! Online, but fans still criticised the event.

Despite the supposed precautions taken place for guests before they entered the party, photos and videos from inside the bash showed little to no guests wearing masks, with no social distancing taking place.

Twitter went wild after seeing the snaps, writing: ‘Ok Kendall Jenner blowing out candles as a masked waiter holds her cake and tries to move out of the way was actually the scariest thing I saw on Halloween.’

Other fans took notice of a sign posted at the party, which instructed guests not to post photos on social media… even though Jenner, her sister Kylie Jenner and others in her family freely posted photos and videos throughout the night.

One person tweeted: ‘Not Kendall Jenner hosting a Halloween party in the middle of the pandemic and making a “no social media” rule so people wouldn’t know.’

@jeonlvr posted the same photo, along with snaps of other celebs such as rapper Saweetie, dressed as Mystique from X-Men and Winnie Harlow as the Bride of Frankenstein, adding, ‘no but kendall jenner really threw a big a** party with all those celebrities without masks in the middle of a pandemic with a “no social media” rule so people wouldn’t find out about it….’

At the event, the Weeknd transformed into Eddie Murphy’s character Sherman Klump by wearing prosthetic make-up and a fat suit to embody the iconic genetics professor.

On Wednesday, Kris Jenner defended her daughter Kendall’s packed birthday party, saying that protocols were in place for a healthy celebration for all.

The reality star, 64, told Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show on Monday about the expansive testing precautions in place for a packed guest list.

‘We are very lucky to work in an industry where we get tested once or twice a week,’ the Keeping Up With The Kardashians matriarch said. ‘I just got tested again. I was tested on Friday, because of the network rules while we are filming as you know, so that’s very strict.’
