‘They’re separate beds!’ Tom Daley’s diving partner Matty Lee posts message as shirtless pair relax

Tom Daley’s diving partner Matty Lee shared a hilarious message as the shirtless pair relaxed in their hotel room after arriving in Tokyo for the FINA World Cup on Tuesday.

Olympic medallist Tom, 26, and Matty, 23, looked the picture of domestic bliss as they arrived in Tokyo and appeared to be sharing the same bed.

But a giggling Matty took to his social media to show followers on video that was not the case and that he and Tom – who is happily married to Dustin Lance Black, 46 –were well and truly separated by having different mattresses.

Matty and Tom who were put together in 2019 for a run at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics looked relaxed as they prepared for the big sporting event this year.

As Matty looked at his phone, Tom had a cookery show playing on his laptop and was knitting.

Matty wrote on his Instagram: ‘Safely made it to the hotel all unpacked. Looks like we are sharing. Promise you they are separate beds.’

He also filmed the bedroom set up and laughed as he made a point of showing off the two beds which were placed together side by side – with Tom so intent on his knitting that he didn’t even look up.

Tom recently said he was upset that his husband Dustin and their son Robbie, two, couldn’t come over to Tokyo due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Last month, Tom  celebrated his and husband Dustin’s eighth anniversary with a slew of loved-up throwback snaps.

The Olympic diver and his director husband both took to Instagram to pen gushing tributes and thank each other ‘for every minute’ of their life together.

Tom, who married his love in 2017, opted for a range of selfies to mark the occasion and was seen beaming a grin as he cosied up to his beau in the images.

He also posted a funny snap of the duo which had a filter on to shrink Dustin’s midriff and stretch his own body as well as make his eyes black.

Dustin also shared some sweet throwback images including the couple looking at his phone and laughing, sleeping on red pillows and posing for a sunset snap.

Matching up their posts a little, both of the men also used a snap of themselves wearing t-shirts over their heads while shirtless at an event.

Tom wrote: ‘8 YEARS ❤️ 8 years ago we met at a dinner, we lived on opposite sides of the pond and thought it was going to be impossible to make it work…but we did!

‘I am so grateful for all the memories, nearly 4 years of marriage and our darling son, Robbie! I love you xxx
