Today Extra host David Campbell confirms gender pronouns

Today Extra host David Campbell has proudly announced his gender pronouns after Instagram introduced a pronoun option for bios this week.

However, the progressive TV presenter was forced to block trolls on the social media site after being attacked for revealing that he identifies by the male pronouns ‘he/him’.

Posting a screenshot of his updated Instagram bio with his pronouns circled in a read market, the 47-year-old wrote: ‘I love that Instagram now allows you to add your pronouns.’

He added: ‘This makes the space more inclusive and allows acceptance for all. It’s easy to do. Edit your page to try it.’

David then confirmed in the comments section that he’d been busy blocking trolls.

‘This has been very helpful to see who I need to block,’ he wrote.

While all of the negative and critical comments had been removed, David left the positive feedback from fans on his page.

‘This is a step forward for all!’ gushed one, while another wrote: ‘This is a terrific inclusion.’

The Today Extra personality and theatre performer is known for his woke views and antics.

In 2017, he made headlines for dressing his twins, who were two-years-old at the time, in feminist T-shirts for an anti-Trump rally. 

Betty had a ‘crush the patriarchy’ T-shirt while her brother Billy wore an outfit with the slogan ‘feminism is for everyone’.

David is known as a proud ally and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. In March, he waved a rainbow flag during a Today Extra segment to celebrate Mardis Gras.
