Today show host Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine Yarbrough test negative for coronavirus – after coming into casual contact with a case

Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine Yarbrough have tested negative for coronavirus after coming into casual contact with an asymptomatic case.

The couple had contact with a case after they visited a restaurant to celebrate Karl’s 46th birthday on Wednesday.

The father-of-four said on Channel Nine’s Today show on Monday, he decided to get tested after experiencing some symptoms.

‘Yesterday we decided we are not feeling 100 per cent. I think all of this becomes a little bit, you know, everyone gets a little bit panicked in a way,’ he said.

Karl went on to say he received his negative results on Monday morning and ‘it was a great relief’.

‘The results came back at 6:05 am this morning which meant I couldn’t come to the Today Show, but it was a great relief and it’s great to know that the system is working in NSW,’ he said.

‘The tracers were exceptional. Everyone’s called within a short space of time and for me, it’s like it just fills you with confidence that they’re on top of it,’ he added.

The father-of-four also revealed that he’s spent his morning with his three-month-old daughter Harper May.

He joked: ‘I tell you what though, this stay at home dad stuff is not for everyone. So I look forward to coming to work tomorrow.’

On Monday morning, Ally Langdon announced the news Karl was in isolation and is awaiting his coronavirus results.  

‘David Campbell is sitting in for Karl who is waiting on a coronavirus test result,’ Ally told viewers.

‘He’s been super cautious. So he’s at home isolating right now,’ she said.
