Donald Trump furiously defends his coronavirus response showing clips of Andrew Cuomo praising him – as he says protesters simply have cabin fever: ‘These people love our country’

In a briefing that stretched an hour and 31 minutes Sunday, President Trump furiously defended his response to combating the coronavirus, showing clips of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo praising him and yelling at reporters who questioned his record.

‘What I’m doing is I’m standing up for the men and women that have done such an incredible job,’ he said when a CNN reporter asked why he was devoting so much time to showcasing praise with more than 40,000 Americans now dead. ‘Nothing is about me,’ the president insisted.

He also again gave a pass to the protesters who he seemingly egged on with his Friday tweets to ‘LIBERATE’ Michigan, Virginia and Minnesota.

President Trump showed clips of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo praising the federal response during Sunday’s White House briefing

‘They’ve got cabin fever,’ Trump said.

The president rejected the assertion that he was inciting violence, as one reporter pointed out that governors around the country were seeing an uptick in death threats.

‘No, I am not. I’ve never seen so many American flags,’ Trump said. ‘These people love our country. They want to get back to work.’

The reporter then pointed out that some protesters had waved Nazi flags.

The president said he was, clearly, against that from happening.
