Two men die in suspected murder-suicide in quiet Cambridgeshire village after ‘victim’, 62, was found with ‘traumatic head injuries’

  • James Hunter, 62, was found with serious injuries in Tilbrook, on December 15
  • His death is being treated as suspicious after he died in hospital on December 18 
  • A second, unnamed man, aged 50, died at the scene on Covington Road

Two men have died after a suspected murder-suicide in a quiet village last week.

James Hunter, 62, was found with serious injuries in Tilbrook,  Cambridgeshire, at around 11.40am on December 15.

Mr Hunter was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but died on December 18, with his death being treated as suspicious.

A second, unnamed man, aged 50, died at the scene on Covington Road on Tuesday. 

His death is not being treated as suspicious and will be handed to the coroner.

Police, paramedics, and an air ambulance were called to the village after reports that two men were injured.

Cambridgeshire Police are currently treating Mr Hunter’s death as suspicious and have launched an investigation into what they believe was an isolated incident.

A post-mortem carried out on December 19 found that Mr Hunter had died as a result of traumatic head injuries.
