University Challenge viewers have swooned over a contestant from last night’s episode, saying he might be the show’s most handsome player ever.
Joshua Mutio, from St Helen’s in Merseyside helped his team from Birckbeck, University of London beat Reading University 295 – 60, by answering questions on musicals, US politics and physics.
But it was the looks of the Politics, Philosophy and Economics Masters student that caught viewers’ eyes, with many taking to Twitter to comment on his cool exterior, some going as far to say he could be the next James Bond.

‘Is Mutio of the Handsomest Person of the series so far? Answer: *SWOON*’ said one.
‘My wife is finding Mutio so cool we’re having to put the central heating on,’ added another.
‘Good evening to and Mutio only,’ commented a third.
The student will advance to the second round of the competition, after getting the highest score in the series so far.
They will be joining the University of Glasgow, University of Durham, The Open University, and University of Strathclyde.

Viewers loved the appearance of ‘cool’ and ‘handome’ Mutio, with one saying ‘Is Mutio of the Handsomest Person of the series so far?’
The next round will no doubt be watched by Mutio’s new found fans, who said he was ‘incredibly cool’ and looked like he stepped on a catwalk.
‘Mutio models in his spare time,’ said one.
‘Mutio is possibly the coolest cucumber,’ added another.
‘Mutio is so hot,’ commented a third.
‘Turn up for University Challenge quizzing in the morning and heading off for James Bond auditions in the afternoon,’ another wrote.
‘In all seriousness. If they’re looking for a new James Bond look no further than this bloke’ tweeted a fifth.

Birkbeck University, who won the competition in 2003, was founded in 1923 by Dr George Birkbeck who championed the cause of education for working people.
It is now part of the University of London with a student body of around 13,000 pupils and mostly has evening classes allowing students to work alongside their study.
The University of Reading, who only scored 50 points, has alumni including Jamie Cullum and Wilfred Owen.
Their team had an average age of 37 and was lead by Lesley Rees, from Boston in Lincolnshire who is studying speech and language therapy.
