Unlikely power broker is ‘working hard behind the scenes to STEAL the Melbourne Cup and bring it to Sydney’ as Victoria battles a COVID outbreak: ‘We’re going to take everything from them’

Controversial radio host Kyle Sandilands has unveiled a dramatic plan to ensure the Melbourne Cup takes place in Sydney this year.

On The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday, the 49-year-old revealed he was speaking to contacts and ‘working extremely hard behind the scenes’ to make it happen.

‘That’s what happens in this country. When someone’s down, we sink the boot in,’ the influential millionaire said, in a blunt reference to Victoria’s coronavirus outbreak.

Kyle noted that Melbourne had already been forced to move their AFL games interstate due to the statewide lockdown.

‘Well we are (Sydney) just going to  take everything off them,’ Kyle said.

Co-host Jackie O Henderson objected, insisting it would make Melburnians hate Sydneysiders ‘even more’ than they already do.

‘Yeah because they’re jealous!’ Kyle replied.
