Vanessa Hudgens and Gerard Butler spent a day on a boat together this past weekend.
And it turns out they were among a small group of people who surprised their friend, Oliver Trevena, on his 40th birthday with an afternoon of partying on the Pacific Ocean near Malibu, California on Sunday.
Butler and another mate helped lead Trevena, who was blindfolded, along a dock until they reached the small boat, where Hudgens and a handful of other friends were waiting.

Bash: Trevena and Hudgens posted videos on Instagram taken during the party on the Pacific Ocean, which included one where the High School Musical alum danced with BFF GG Magree
Trevena posted some videos on Instagram showing him being led to the boat as the pair held his hands, all while trying to keep the surprise under wraps.
When they finally did make it to the entrance of the boat, everyone yelled out: ‘Surprise and happy birthday.’
‘When your friends kidnap you at lunch!!!!! A Birthday I will NEVER forget!!’ Trevena wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.

Dressed in baby blue sweatpants and a cropped tank top, Hudgens was able to watch in amazement as several dolphins swam along with their speeding boat.
In a separate video, Hudgens and her BFF GG Magree can be seen dancing in the bow of the boat with a cute golden dog that was brought along for the party.

Butler, who dressed casually in brown cargo pants and a white and red shirt, could also be heard in the background enjoying the impromptu show by the gorgeous mammals.
The party also included Butler’s girlfriend Morgan Brown, filmmaker Peter Landesman, talent manager Lena Roklin, Next Health co-founder Kevin Peake, among a few others.
While Butler has been mates with Trevena, Hudgens is connected to the British actor and television personality as business partners in the newly launched beverage company called Caliwater.
Trevena is best-known for his acting and for hosting the hugely popular celebrity chat show, Young Hollywood (2007).
