Victoria and David Beckham proudly wore their poppies as they joined forces with their children to mark Remembrance Sunday.

The fashion designer, 46, and former footballer, 45, who are supporters of the Poppy Appeal stood with their children Cruz, 15, and Harper, nine as the famous family took part in a two-minute silence at 11am to commemorate the country’s war dead.

In a photo captioned: ‘Wearing our poppies with pride today!’, Victoria looked chic in a tan sweater with navy blue sleeves as she posed with David.

The beauty wore this with jeans and knee-high boots- with her tresses styled in a chic updo.

David looked dapper in a crisp white shirt and slate grey blazer, worn with chinos and wellington boots as he showed off his poppy.

Sharing a video of his family, David wrote: ‘Lest we forget. This week I met the amazing Chelsea Pensioners.

‘I was so happy we were able to visit them in these especially difficult times for older people and for all charities.

‘As so many of us spend today back in lockdown we remember those who gave so much for our freedom. It’s a chance to talk to our children about why we mark Remembrance Day like my grandad taught me why we wear the poppy.

‘The pensioners are sad they can’t go out and sell poppies this year as usual, please support them and donate online if you can,’

Earlier this week, Victoria said how ‘proud’ she is of her husband David’s involvement in this year’s poppy appeal, sharing a picture of the former footballer during his visit to see the Chelsea Pensioners.

The fashion designer encouraged her followers to get on board with David’s campaign and order a poppy online, as she added that the coronavirus pandemic will make it difficult for people to buy one while ‘out and about’.

Alongside a smiling snap of David and the veterans, she wrote: ‘It’s likely less people will be buying popping out and about ahead of Remembrance Day this year, but you can still get one online! Swipe up to shop and support @royalbritishlegion x VB.’

On Tuesday, David  recounted what the annual occasion means to him during a visit to the Chelsea Pensioners in London this week.

David’s grandfather Joseph West – who fought in the Second World War – instilled the ethos of Remembrance Day into a young David when he was a child.

He told The Sun: ‘Remembrance Day is always special to me because my grandfather was in the Scots Guards and it was always a big deal in our household,’ ‘When the poppies came out my granddad was the first to get us all one.

‘He would say, “There’s your poppy. Wear it to school.” It was a really exciting moment. It is so important we remember the sacrifice that our Armed Forces have made for us, as individuals, as families, and as a country.’

David – who shares children Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 18, Cruz, 15, and Harper, nine, with wife Victoria, 46 – added: ‘I want to pass it on to my kids and I hope they will pass it on to their kids.

David went on to recall how his grandparents took him to the Changing of the Guard, the Royal Tournament and Trooping the Colour.
