Why former WAG Kyly Clarke won’t be changing her surname after split

Kyly Clarke reveals why she WON’T be changing her surname after her divorce from cricket legend Michael

It’s been almost two months since Michael and Kyly Clarke announced they had split after seven years of marriage.

But despite going their separate ways, Kyly has no plans to change her surname once the divorce is finalised.

The House Rules judge, 38, told The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday why she won’t be going back to maiden name, Boldy.

She said it was ‘important’ for her to share the same surname as her four-year-old daughter, Kelsey Lee Clarke.

Radio host Jackie Henderson said she understood Kyly’s thinking, because she had made the same decision when she separated from Lee Henderson in 2018.

‘That’s the surname of your daughter, and I’m the same. I want to keep the same surname as well for that very reason,’ she said.

Kyly responded: ‘Absolutely… I think it’s funny how sometimes you make such a fuss in the beginning about changing names or not changing names. But yeah, I think it’s very important that our last names are the same and I love that.’

Michael and Kyly, who married in May 2012, announced their separation in February, but it’s believed they had actually split five months earlier.

The Clarkes have already agreed terms on their divorce, as well as arrangements to co-parent Kelsey Lee.

‘Kelsey Lee is our priority, so we’re just doing everything that is in her best interest – her happiness is paramount,’ Kyly told Kyle and Jackie O.

She added that the separation had been ‘weird’ because the former couple still ‘see each other nearly every day.’
